What makes the price go up or down
1. How much glass you have
This is the biggest factor. Larger jobs usually get a lower price per square foot because setup and travel are spread across more glass.
2. The film you choose
A basic solar film costs less than a high-performance spectrally selective film (the kind that blocks heat while staying almost clear), and both cost less than thick security film. Many buildings mix films — solar on the sunny walls, frosted in conference rooms, security at the entry — so you only pay for premium film where it matters.
3. Access to the windows
Ground-floor windows you can reach from the floor are the fastest to install. Tall atrium glass, second-story windows that need lifts, or rooms full of furniture take longer.
4. Removing old film
If the glass has old, bubbling or purple film on it, that has to come off first. Removal adds labor, so mention it when you ask for a quote.
5. Scheduling
Most installs happen during normal business hours, one area at a time, so you stay open. If you need after-hours or weekend work, ask — it can affect the schedule and price.
